Nobody can pin-point exactly where a shot is coming from. But you can certaintly know which direction it is coming from and find the player shooting at you. If there was a hit notification it wouldn't be fair for the person shooting you when they got the advantage on you. It would immedietly give away their position and it wouldn't be the game I love today.
We don't need giant red flags when a person shoots over them or super bright tracer rounds.
Proper sounds to detect enemies? You're being shot probably about 100 meters to 200 meters away you shouldn't be able to hear them at all. You'll hear the gunshot and that'll be it. If they're close enough you'll hear their foot steps. That isn't enough indication for you?
You shouldn't know the exact location of a shooter in this game as that's not the point of this game but the general location is plenty.

Have you ever heard a gun shot from 100 meters out? You can tell exactly where it is especially with reverb taking place.
I'm not the one here asking for some bizarre magic sound to give a player away.
I understand the map is smaller, but it doesn't change the fact that the sounds in a general veceinity are inaccurate.
If they're inaccurate you need new headphones. If they're new check your ears.
