How to text-chat in game?

as kids spam the voice chat, I look for a normal text chat... is it in the game and if so: how to use it?

you can chance the voice chanell to team only in the settings

I know I'm a few months late but the Rules of Conduct page rom the August 4th update seems to hint at text chat in the future as it provides rules for it. So, maybe soon?

I play with players who are deaf and we have to use steam messaging to communicate, would be nice to have a text to team option for the deaf players and those who play with them.

second that , players without mics want to play duo's and quads also ,

Team text chat seems like essential. Especially when you end up getting matched with people without microphone. As english isn't my first language, I'd love to switch to keyboard once in a while too.
