Allocating 4gb of Ram to PUBG

So I'm trying to allocate more ram to PUBG and I am wondering how to do so. I have 8gb and want to atleast allocate 4gb. Thanks!

No, it's just the game, uses a lot of ram. If i play on low details, it uses 4 gb, if I play on max details, it uses around 10 gb.

8gb ram is very small, your system is suffocating. Heck even 16gb is too small nowadays on windows10. I can't even run two games at once without getting out of memory errors on windows10. I have i7 6700k + gtx1080 + 16gb ddr4-3000mhz +500gb evo850 ssd

is this a troll thread? why the hell would want to run 2 games at once?

I'm sorry, but that is indeed a memory leak right there.

The game does not need that much, nor should it use it.
Not even at the highest settings.
At the highest settings, it should only really allocate around 5-8GB (according to their forums). Any more than that, indicates a memory leak. This was apparently also one of the reasons why the last patch was a roll-back (it had severe issues with this as well).

Check the official forums for the game - there are plenty of memory leaks (both system memory and video memory leaks).

If that was true I wouldn't be able to run it.

it depends on how much ram you have.

For honor, for example, uses 12 gb of ram on max settings.

i dont think u can. u can close all the apps u dont NEED to free up more ram. Its not like a java game. id tweak ur settings to where ur ram isnt getting maxed in the first place. you could increase page file but if ur using a HDD i dont think it would be helpful for gaming.

that being said at 1440p with near max im capping out at around 6.5gb ram and 5.8 vram.

I have everything closed on my pc accept for Discord cuz that's what I use to chat with my friends when we play. I have all my setting at very low and even have it set to a lower resolution. I get like 40fps and half the time buildings don't load in until like 2 minutes later. My pc probably just sucks

I have 16gb, allocated 13gb, but pubg never takes more than ~7gb if not playing like 5 rounds in the row. Then sometimes crashes.

If you want to free up RAM, use Razer Cortex. It stops processes and RAM hogs that aren't necessary while you're in game.

run a program to free ram? what? Just use task manager (ctrl+alt+del), click processes, sort by most memory, and end things near the top. If u dont know what the proccess is then type it in google to check if its ok to end.

if u find something that doesnt need to run but starts up with windows, open msconfig and uncheck it there.

Razer Cortex automatically stops processes during the game's launch. It takes MUCH less time than doing it manually and it's free. I agree that doing things manually is sometimes better but in this case it's much easier, MUCH faster and doesn't require someone to have technical knowledge of what software should be running.
