Is it possible to start with a gun?

I had a match where i landed outside a town alone with one other person. I landed first and waited for them to land so i could punch them to death. The second they landed, however, they pulled out a pistol and shot me to death. Is it a thing where u can start the game with a pistol?

2 games in a row I've been killed by a shotgun within 10 seconds of touchdown, once was in the middle of an open field.... it's hard to miss someone looting when there's nothing within 500ft to loot...

I see SNIPER kills in the killfeed as I'm still falling, and having jumped from the plane as soon as possible. And then I get a shotgun to the face from the guy I landed next to, at the same time as him.
Pretty sure there's some hacks out there. :(

one time i picked up an AR and killed a player as he was 2ft away from landing on his parachute. I felt like such a ♥♥♥♥

At least it was early game saved him the 30 minutes to get in top 20 just to get shot in the face lol

I've landed and then shot (and hit) someone still parachuting down. Didn't think you coulddo that but i was like what the hell ill try and BOOp..blood everywhere..hehe kinda felt bad.

Only thing i can say is ppl chute onto rooftops, pick up weapons and kill ppl from there.

Pretty sure there are some hacks out there but, with the size of the player base, we'd know about actual loadout hacks for sure.

Incidentally my fastest kill was north of Pochinki. I and another guy headed for the flat-top with roof access; saw the M16, landed on it, load and kill in the space of five seconds. He'd landed on a backpack. ♥♥♥♥ luck really. (A second kill was literally seconds later.)

Point? Pick your landing spot with extreme prejudice and nail it.

why would you land somewhere that is at least 500ft from any loot ?
