The name of the game.
I know. There is a reason. But seriously, can it be normalized so when I try to present the game for a friend it does not sound like I try to promote some wierd shady H1NZ1-clone.

Normalized? This is a funny post, the name is great and I have started calling it Pub G, as in the public place for G's. And in the world of online games unknown players become infamous. It's perfect. Or just call it "the game from the guy who made battle royal a thing" to help your friend. Shhhh there there... It'll be okay.

Well tbh first time when I saw the gametitle (in caps of course) I was a bit put off. Thought it was some wierd asian thing when just judging by the title. I love the game I really do. And as a professor in marketing and pretty much everything else I strongly advice the devs to change the title of the game. Or at least remove the caps. Please god.

i know what you mean, not many games are in full caps.
but his name is litterally PLAYERUNKNOWN.
adding a word behind all caps is hard. especially with the playerunknown " 's " battlegrounds. do you caps the S or not? do you want the name to be half caps and then normal?
i think they have thought about the name for many many hours before choosing this one. lets not upset them by telling them we dont like it :D haha xd

Fairly sure you're using the word 'professor' incorrectly - otherwise Sweden has some low standards.

Yeah, it looks a little bit cheesy imo - at least i guess it's written in caps just because it's more likely to leap out at potential customers. But maybe there is another reason...

Ironic comment, considering H1Z1 is more of a clone of this game...

The developer of PUBG is teh creator of the genre and the very person who started it all in ARMA and the person who licensed the IP to Sony (now owned by Daybreak) who made H1Z1

Sooooo, this is the original, others are the clones.

Agreed the name is a little odd, and the all caps is off putting. But you have to understand that PLAYER UNKNOWN is a well known person in the BR and modding community. It is a good name on the basis of name recognition, and if you do in fact have any knowledge of marketing you know that name recognition and established credentials are HUGE.

A Battel Royale game with the name PLAYER UNKNOWN attached to it will get a lot more attention and instant credibility than if it had any other name.
