Armor/hitboxes and damage.

So far it's hard to say if armor is doing the job or not. I've been wearing tier 3 sets and getting one banged by pistols/shotguns, other times the armor soaks up a million damage.
Same goes for damage.
Being shot point blank by a shotgun means one banged, but using one in the same circumstance takes 3-4 shots.
Would highly appreciate some answers on this as it is bugging me greatly.

I actually experienced the same issue. Weapon damage is absolutely inconsistent and feels randomic. Sometimes I can one-shot people with lvl 3 armor with S686, other times Iàm not even able to kill them after 2 rounds of S686 and 4 of M16A4. So yeah, I believe that armor and weapon damage are currently broken.

My roomate just last night entered a firefight where he and the enemy were both shooting each other out in the open. He was shooting full auto AK with a red dot. He died. He insisted he shot the person 6-7 times with the entire magazine. In reality he hit the enemy one time and the rest shot over the guy's head. Adrenaline gives you tunnel vision when you fight in this game so its hard to discern what really happened at times.

You cannot reliablely know shots to kill unless you test it with your friend or someone puts up a spread sheet. Seems like to me, it takes around 5 rounds of 5.56 to kill someone in level 3 armor. Each time I've been killed or killed with a shot gun, it took two shots to kill.

So you're hinting at hitregistration problems?
As i've played fps games for over 14 years i can safely say i don't enter a state with adrenaline, nor tunnelvision.
My impression so far is that unless your face is fully covered it will count as a zero armor headshot. Not so long ago i got one banged by a headshot from a 9mm pistol even tho i had tier 2 armor, which adds to my impression.

I have something more to add. I just played a game and killed a guy with a headshot. Only problem is that I was actually firing at his chest. For the sake of clarity, I can actually tell wheter or not I hit someone by the blood coming out from their bodies. So no adrenaline or tunnel-vision :)

there is an attachement for shotguns which makes them less spray. so if all bullets hits you you're done.

I just got nailed from 75% HP with tho hits to the chest with an AK, while wearing a tier 3 vest. What is even the point of it, if the damage reduction is so miniscule? And if that's tier 3, tiers 1 and 2 are basically worthless.

AKM and shotgun damages seem to be really random. I have got 2 shotted by AKM and other times 5 times and didn't go down. Maybe something is screwy about the hitbox or damage calculation.

I usually get my kills with 3-5 shots, if i hit them and med range and they try to get cover to heal, ill either toss a nade or rush em..

As for me ive only died a cpl 1shot WTF moments, the rest i usually take the same amount 3-5 depending on my gear.

From what I've played.
Vests only protect the chest and back (not the arms and legs) and helmet is head only.
And I don't think the neck is protected by anything and it is a high damage target.

i had a scar-l on full auto the other day. guy came up the stairs and i laid into him. I don't know how many shots he took or what armor he had but the blood was sprayign everywhere. while that was happening, he shot me 1 once with the shot gun and killed me. I don't remember what armor I had, maybe tier1 or tier 2 vest, and probably tier 1 helmet. i feel like the tier 1 and 2 vests are worthless.

i just got killed by 3 shots by an UMP. I was wearing lvl 2 vest and helmet.
how the ♥♥♥♥ can armor stop 5x 5.56 bullets but not 3x 9mm bullets?

Can vouch for this really, sneaked on a guy that was lay down single firing at someone put 3 bullets into him and he spun and dropped me with 2 shots, he had a motorbike helmet and a tier 1 vest.......
