Low sound levels?
is it just me or is this games audio levels significantly lower than other apps at 100%

it seems like the sound is at least half the volume i have set my sound to.

and yes, i have checked volume mixer :D

nope, its opposite, everything is way too loud in this game, specially backround ambients what are in in-game settings counted for effects sounds what include everything importand foot steps, door openings, explosions, gun shots etc... really annoying when backround ambients are so loud that they literally overtake even cqb gun shots

Yea. Sound levels is just really bad! I have to increase the volume on my headphones like 100-200% every time i play this vs other sounds. And sounds are a bit strange in general.
But this is early access, so I can live with that for now :)

I keep checking back here in hopes that someone has found something to fix this...i have TERRIBLE sound...it's so quiet i can't hear a thing...every other game works fine. discord works fine. But everything in PUBG is soooo quiet. I have noise canceling earbuds in, the game cranked 100% loud, and i can hear my computer fans over the game during firefights...terrible. Suggestions anyone?:berserk:

The game is litterly louder than a Eurofighter Typhoon starting 50m next to you...

Mclane, what sound are you using? To my knowledge i'm only using the onboard RealTek stuff...I ordered an external sound card and I will let you know if it works.

i am using a Asus Strix Raid DLX more or less equiv to a Soundblaster ZXR that i swapped from. only thing i can think of trying next is different audio bit depth and sampling rate. the audio levels in only this game are low regardless if im using speakers or headphones

This game have low sound for shure.
Logitech 930 = Sound low
Asus internal sound card = Sound low
Asus zonar eksternal sound card = sound low.
Sound is low with speakers or headphones.
But
Guns are loud!!! whit speakers.

I had to tick the "Smart Volume" thingy in sound settings, that way it worked.

Yeah i noticed i can almost hear nothing now compare to last week. Last week i could hear ppl a mile away and now it's like sounds are turned off.
i found a way to get the sound to be loader first you go to control panel then hardware and sound then manage audio devices then go to your audio device and right click and go into properties then the enhancements tab their will be a list scroll down to Loadness Equalization and check it then apply, the change was night and day for me before i couldnt hear any footsteps.

im with you! the game sound is very low. at cs go, winamp (oldschool) etc i got speakers on 50 in this game i turn it up to 70

OKAY.

Now this is odd.

so it would appear this game at least with my system absolutely does not like high sampling rate or 24bit audio depth.

I normally run my sound set to 192kHz and 24 bit. this has been perfectly fine with every app i have played...except this one

switching to 48 kHz and 16 bit almost doubles the sound level in this game for me vs running at 192 kHz and 24bit.

kind of sucks i have to change my audio settings for a single app, but to anyone having the issue give that a try in the meantime.

Edit: seems after numerous tests its specifically the high sampling rate that makes this games volume drop significantly, 24bit is not the cause, its the 192 KHz

Mclane, and for those that don't want to adjust settings, especially for just one program...I purchased for I think 5.99 US a Sabrent USB AUDIO STEREO sound adapter. smaller than a thumb drive and has two ports...one for headphones, one for mic. As someone said above...like night and day. I didn't even know half the crap that makes sound even made sound in the first place. Wow, huge difference. I may attempt to mess with the sampling anyway, but as a quick and (relatively) cheap fix, this sound adapter thing works great. I picked mine up on Amazon but i'm sure you could find it elsewhere, and even cheaper. I just wanted a quick fix and it worked for me. Hope this helps others! :newsword:
