Failed to Initialize steam

Have you guys tried verifying integrity of game cache? (Right Click Game -> Properties -> Local Files -> Verify Integrity)

Things that worked for me

Disabling Antivirus Software (namely Avast) and reinstalling the battle-eye client from the "steamapps\common\PUBG\TslGame\Binaries\Win64\BattlEye\Uninstall_BattlEye.bat" fixed the game for a friend of mine.


(all the other methods didn't fix the game or just moved the error from "loading" in the left corner to "failed to initialize steam". Including running things as an admin or deleting certain files or using cmd to run commands...)

Reboot the whole PC worked for us

so this is what i did..... after the bluehole logo pops up, that short second where it shows the UI. Click the top left play button and it worked... have to click it fast tho before it goes to the failed to initialize screen

Hudspeth is a freaking hero!! Citadel, Dark and Light, Ark, all have this same issue. Turn em off or change ports and that fixed it for me.

What worked for me was to close all other running steam or even non steam games running in the background

Use control + alt + delete then hit start task manager. Then you can find the proccesses tab and right click end proccess any games that are left running but don't show up.

Hi!
I reinstalled windows for my computer and after that the game wouldnt start...
I tried reinstalling c++ to no prevail and today i installed "beta updates" from windows update that came today and the launch got stuck to loading screen and after this just reinstalled c++ 2013 x64 + x86 + 2015 x64 files from PUBG game files (steam/steamapps/common/PUBG/commonredist/vcredist

So all I did was open steam and right click PUBG then under properties to go local files and click verify the integrity of game files. Make sure you actually *EXIT* steam before trying this or restarting pubg. closing the window alone will not help!

Fix for me was Simple;

Browse to :

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\PUBG

Remove x2 files -
Manifest_DebugFiles_Win64
Manifest_NonUFSFiles_Win64

Set Launch Option to "/"

**********************************

Remove and Reinstall Battle Eye from PUBG folder.

Validate game files, and VOILA - Works.
