Failed to Initialize steam

i had that problem i fixed it by deleting all microsoft c++ files then i installed it again from here

then i did this step (just choose the windows u have)
https://support.microsoft.com/en-ie/help/929135/how-to-perform-a-clean-boot-in-windows
and do what it says just disable everything (its ok its not deleting anything)
dont do the 5th step(it worked without it)

AND U R GOOD (it will help i promise)

not all people have the same problem i tried to restart steam, uninstall steam,delete filex and nothing, then i saw a tutorial and i did what it says i tried everything but only the last part worked (deleting c++)

You have to go to task manager to fix that. Open it up and end process on whatever game is stuck.

yea thanks , now i get a Crash before i even get into the game. Really helped me out

i tried turning down steam by the task manager and pub, *restarted it* and them i started steam aigan, and it actually fixed, i really hope that you guys can get fixed, but that is what worked for me, if it even helps

Exit Steam completely (can be done from the right-click context menu of the steam icon.) and launch steam over again.

This method works reliably for me but it's not ideal so I'll also be trying the run as admin method.

I had this issue for a while, and I noticed it was when I had my Ark: Survival Evolved server running off the same PC i was trying to play PUBG on. It's because PUBG uses 27015 only to connect to steam. Once I changed my ark server to use 27016 as the listening port my "Failed to Initialize Steam" error went away and I was able to play PUBG and run my Ark server.
