Does it have controller support?
Can`t stand M & K. Before anybody says You`ll get rekt I win Fps shooters against M & K users all the time. It`s actually a dealbreaker if it doesn`t & I would sadly have to pass on this great looking game.

Interested in this as well, although you probably will not get an answer here.

Regardless, if it doesn't I'm sure you can use Xpadder.

from what i know it does have full controller support and even rumbles using my old madcatz xbox controller...i didnt try remapping or even spend time on figuring out all the controls using the pad but from what i did it works NP

It does not yet have full controller support and I am unsure if they will be adding it.

Have a look at the link below on how to custom map any controller to any game on steam.

game is on my wishlist, i prefer to game on 4k tv and also since i have pelvic pain, so gamepad for most part. gamepad support appreciated, not asking for aim assist or handholding, but atleast provide option would be greatly appreciated.

i may buy soon and try out the already existing gamepad support, lawbreakers alphas and beta test as well as mirage arcane warfare all have offered controller support,

so would be awesome if this game had atleast partial controller support, definitely helps with ppl's purchase options.

I use Xpadder, I am very much the same as you, for me using keyboard and mouse is just pointing and clicfking. each to there own, using the mouse on this game is so much esier to aim and shoot people at distance but the controller has a trigger which for makes it feel a little more real. last time I checked my gun, it didnt have a mouse button on it lol. Xpadder does work but some buttons are there to stay on it like "Y" button on my pad is reload, if i try changing it with xpadder to "RUN" once you press the "Y" button my character relods and runs, so there is a bit of tial and error with but it does work.

Use Big Picture Mode on Steam to map controller.

Works great.

Iron sight speed can still be adjusted in game.

Normal right analog stick speed can be adjusted in Big Picture mode.

Lots of keys to map... luckily Big Picture Mode has a 'double mode shift' feature to map a key to change a whole set of other keys.

Go to the above listed link by RoboDanjal for more information.

So, are we saying that functionality is limited drastically when using an XBone controller in this game? I am curious bc I recently made the switch from console to PC Masta race. I've yet to use anything but M&K, but am considering, and tempted to try my trusty old console controller. I'm leaning toward sticking it out with M&K.

im using a xbox one controller, and no it is not full support you have to use mouse for inventory, menu and map. also the settings for it suck.

I use controller in my left hand for n s e w movement and mouse in my right for aim and shoot. That's my combination. Works fine with both x-box and ps4 controller. Steam big picture mode has even more options for the controller so that makes it far more useful, like menu overlays on button pushes and so on. You do NOT have t use mouse for anything you can map everything to the controller...just use steam big pucture mode or manually edit the ini file but that's apain in the as*... when I don't need to aim and shoot I use the contoller with both hands for say, moving through a building quickly.

This is good news for me. I've been away from PC gaming too long and WASD is really tough for me. I played Destiny with the half controller/mouse setup and it was great. Is there a lot of stuff I have to setup to have this same type of play in PUBG? I would really like to have the movement control of the controller (along with the aim trigger). I'm old and not as quick with the keys anymore :)

I'm sure the better players can mimic a joystick input from a controller, but, it's a lot of work.
It's just so easy using that combination. You don't want your shoot/aim with the controller obvioulsy, that's way to difficult and you will die too much as head shots are critical.
Let me know what controller you are using and I can likely export my settings to share out.
I use the left bumper for breathe, for example. BUt also, when I press that button, two radial menus come up allowing me to select my first aid type items, and another comes up for weapon selections. It's really cool, and because they are transparent it doesn't bother you in game play.
That's with the PS4 controller, which so far is my favorite. The x-box controller is a little harder to change as it is detected within windows as a native controller and a bit harder to configure.
THere is a bug if you try to configure the x-box controller in game only, and not using steam.
It will always map the left and right numpers to lean left and lean right, and you wil lose configurations between game play. So don't mess with the in game controller config! just use steams big picture mode and do everything there...

Cool! Thanks for the reply. I also have a PS4 controller that I can use if that makes it easier. As for the aiming, I was thinking about using the left trigger on the controller to aim and the right mouse button to jump. I used this setup in Destiny and played many many hours with that configuration. If that's not a good idea, I can try to learn to aim with the right click. In PUBG, i just felt like my shooting was off when trying to use the right click. But, it also could be cause I just can't shoot/aim well, haha...

I like the bumper idea for holding breath. Oh yeah, I also have a sony nav controller which I thought about trying out since it have a few more buttons available in my right hand.
iliadz Jul 14, 2017 @ 10:10am
You can set up the controllers to use any combination you like. So if you simply want to aim with the mouse, but shoot with the controller's left trigger, do that. The main thing is to use the mouse to aim though as you are going to lose the accuracy. A controller simply doesn't give you that no matter what.
In fact that isn't too bad of an idea as when you press the mouse key to shoot while movine it will make you a fractino of a bit less accurate do to pressue, so using the controller trigger would minimuze that. Though you aren't usually running and shooting I suppose?
I also use voice attack for some commands just because I enjoy it. So for example, map, I use voice attack on to bring the map up.
