I always assumed the fastest BP farm was to queue solo and drop into hot spots. You either die quick and/or get kills fast. BP is pretty useless though so I never really looked into it.

Not really.

Quick ques for 50BP or 30 minute game for 500+BP.

Plus quick games will tank your ranking pretty fast.

I tanking your ratings good or bad for BP gain? also do you have the math to prove 50-100BP/quick game < 500+BP/30 min?

Why would you want to BP farm?. The items are worth pennies.

Well the more you die early, the lower your ranking, the lower your ranking the worse players you get paired with. Honestly there is no reason to farm BP, most of the items can be bought off the community market for pennies as there are so few, you'll eventually reach a state in which gaining BP only gets you duplicate items.

And it won't matter at release as they'll wipe BP and rank.

so lowering ranking is good. Sounds like I should be farming my rank as low as possible. Can I lose rank by joing and leaving games immediately?

1.) No you have to die and be placed.

2.) Playing against 'worse' players does not guarantee you will win, and when you do, your ranking will go up enough to negate all the games you throw.

3.) It's a waste of time over just playing the game.

Sorry but this isn't those 'other games'. But if you want to waste your time trying to smurf against 99 other players, go ahead.

Better question, in what ways are they the same to other games? Please, I want details. SR/MMR/Leaderboard match ups/Ping/Region/the whole nine yards.

I'm not sure why you are asking me. You are the one with the info on how ranking and matchmaking works in this game. I wasn't even aware your rank factored into matchmaking for sure. If it does I see no reason why having a lower rank wouldn't be advantageous.

I'm not sure why you are asking me. You are the one with the info on how ranking and matchmaking works in this game. I wasn't even aware your rank factored into matchmaking for sure. If it does I see no reason why having a lower rank wouldn't be advantageous.

Just play the game as intended?. Lowering your rank so you've got a better chance at winning is a loss in itself as you're having to lower the skill level of your opponents to succeed. That isn't a win in my eyes and it's actually expoiting the system so to speak. You can be banned for exploiting but I'm not 100% sure if lowering your rank on purpose is included in their ruleset.

TL:DR. Don't do it. Play people at your level and stop trying to farm BP as the items are worth pennies.

to each their own. I find it more fun to play people of lower skill level because it means I get to use sub-optimal (fun) strategies and still stay competitive.

I'd love to be able to use pistols only and still do well, but if I play competitively I feel forced to use "real" guns and use meta strategies.

Fair enough, you paid your money ;).

Pistols only can be a thing in custom games so you might be able to do this in the near future. I've seen pan only games on there too. One question though, why do you want to farm BP?.
