Do i need Kalypso Launcher?

Or can i start T4 via Steam without Kalypso? I dont like to have houndreds of different launchers with their malware distrubing my computer :(

Seems so, as well as another game account with Kalypso.

There seems to be a guide for starting it without the launcher, but I couldn't be bothered to see if that works, i just refunded instead.

Just bought the game and tried this to avoid the launcher issue, works flawlessly. All you have to do is open notepad as Administrator and add one line to a text file.

In the Tropico 6 forum a dev posted that this step can be skipped if you update to the latest version. I don't know what he meant by that, my 'latest version' of Tropico 4 still forced me to install the launcher and make an account to play with without that mod.
