A little bird told me that I should make an announcement here that my next game, Eden's Last Sunrise, is finally available. All the fun of launch week, all over again!

Join me starting at 10:00am EST (GMT-5) on Saturday for my Game Day stream! I will be playing and commentating on several of my past and present games, and taking donations for Extra Life. Be sure to check in at around 8:00pm to catch early footage of my next game in development, Eden's Last Sunrise! The stream will be playing at https://twitch.tv/spaaacelizard for as long as I can last.

ABOUT DONATION PERKS: Once the stream has started (after 10:00am EST), I will give the following rewards for donors $10 and up. They are first come first served, so as soon as you've donated, be sure to message me directly on Twitter (https://www.twitter.com/sungazersoft) or on Discord (Space Lizard#6388) with the game, name, and optionally, design you wish.

When I get to the game in question, I will name and design the character according to your choices (at my discretion). Check the stream overlay to see how many slots are remaining for each game. I will also match all donations up until the goal is reached.

☆Eden's Last Sunrise: 6 slots. Character name, last name, species (human, dragon-like, or dog-like). Optionally, you can send me your custom artwork for the character's portrait. These custom characters will be used as the main party during the demonstration.

☆The Drop: 3 slots. Character name, species (human, lizard, or cat-like), and optionally, a rough description of the character class. Each character will be played for one dungeon run.

☆I Miss the Sunrise: 1 slot. Character name, last name, species (human, cyborg, or lizard-like), sex, and personality. This will be the main player character during the first chapter or two.

Hey, y'all! I'm happy to announce that I'll be taking part in Game Day this year, on November 7th. Game Day is an event where participants play games to raise funds for Extra Life to benefit children's hospitals across the country. This year, I will be joining in and playing and accepting donations for my local children's hospital, too!

My current plan is to play my own games (roughly in reverse order of release) over the 24 hour block, and give developer commentary, insights, secrets, trivia, and other nuggets of info along the way. I will also give a brief look at my next game-in-progress!

Happy May! I hope y'all are staying safe and healthy. I've made a pretty substantial update for the game ahead of a spring sale and a few other fun projects coming up next week, so here's what's new!

-Rebuilt in Unity 2018, including new scripting backend support! This should hopefully mean a substantial performance boost on lower-end Windows systems.

-Backported the particle effects from the Special Edition! This means enhanced spell/graphical effects, mostly in battle.
-Added new artwork for each card (also backported from the Special Edition), courtesy of Zeitzbach.
-The distant background art has been adjusted to better fit each level.
-Added letterboxing for better 16:10 and 21:9 resolution support.
-The first available attack is now automatically selected for you in battle.
-The Princess' attacks no longer directly influence Fury and Forgiveness. This means it can be adjusted to your liking outside of battle without having it shift during a fight.
-"Look" boxes have been shrunken slightly to help keep them from scrolling off the screen.
-The mouse has been removed as an input option. If you're a current player: to disable mouse input, you will need to head to the Options screen and choose to "Reset Bindings" one time.
-Several new NPCs have been scattered around the world as special thanks to some players for their support and contributions. Find them all!

As is the case when upgrading the engine (from Unity 2014 to 2018 - yikes!), there may be some dust that needs to settle. If you see anything wonky or out of place, don't hesitate to let me know! I will compile a list of fixes and publish them all out at once at a later date.

Steam has added the ability to separate soundtracks from other kinds of DLC, so I am in the process of figuring that out now. If you own the DLC already, you should be able to view it in Steam and have a new "download album" option. This will give you access to all-new extended versions of every track, as well as the three tracks unique to the Special Edition!

The tracks are currently 320kb MP3 quality. I am working on making FLAC versions available too. The art book is still included; just choose to "View on disc" and look under the "Art book" folder.

Please note: The built-in music player in Steam will play the songs in alphabetical order instead of track order. I don't have a way to fix this, as of writing.

This whole system is pretty new, so please let me know of anything unusual that you encounter. ːred_draconː

Happy Thursday! For anyone interested, I have finished putting together a small standalone version of Quad Pro Quo 2.0. This is a version of the card game that will appear in Eden's Last Sunrise, with slightly tweaked rules, new cards, a spiffy sci-fi skin, and lots of chatty challengers!

Just a brief, Monday morning news break of a few little things going on around the Sungazer central HQ, which may or may not be a converted spare bedroom.

:rik: First, a two-year celebration sale price for the game and soundtrack DLC should be kicking in today. Yep. Aaaany second now.

:rik: Second, the PS4 patch is ready to go, but because of some behind-the-curtain stuff going on, it's running a little late in getting published. I really, really hope to have it out this week.

:rik: Third, I've started making more regular updates to my blog concerning my next project, Eden's Last Sunrise. I will start introducing the cast of characters and more samples of the soundtrack as early as this week.
