Would I be stepping into a community of weirdo furries if I started playing this?

Looking into it, this game ticks the boxes I want in a fighter: four buttons, most of the characters don't have a 623 move (I don't mind doing it, but it's annoying to me how some games make it tricky to do consistently compared to 236), small roster. But then, well, there's the elephant - or pony - in the room where I'm sure you can guess why I've not bought the game, and that's the art style. Part of it is I don't like the style much by its own merit, however there's also just... this fear I'd be playing with some straight up furries or something. Is this community fairly normal or not?

If you like the gameplay, i don't get why you are affraid of people playing a game
Plus, no one ask you to socialize, and people are pretty chill in the lobby.

I have been playing for about a year and my personal experience with the community has been actually very good.

Most people are friendly and helpful and generally good sports. I have not seen any creepy people while playing so far so I do not believe that is much of a concern. One of the most friendly communities I have been apart of so far.

Honestly. That was one thing I had to think about before I bought this game. But believe me the game is great, I'd never played Fighting games before and I thoroughly enjoy this one. Coming from someone who is neither part of the furry or pony community in any way.

I dunno, I just play against random people in a fighting game, I mean if you want to be friends with everyone and share your life story with random persons in a fighting game........ then that's kinda weird. Been playing Tekken, SF, KOF, GG, BB and more and honestly from my experience it's just: Go online, fight random player, win/lose/they RQ, fight, repeat.

Otherwise I doubt that I'm a furry, I play XCOM games, DMC games, MGS games, and I don't have any weird furrie games like..... whatever they have, pony B-hole cleaner, daddies furries friends, ultra animal harem combo 360 no scope meaty buka- so I couldn't tell you if this community is full of furries and I fail to see how that would make a difference, it's a bit like if you asked if the majority of Street fighter 5 players are gay and if that's the case you won't by the game, you can just fight people instead of wanting to date tthem or something, I don't know to be fair you sound a bit sus and a bit weird so I'll say just enjoy the fighting game it's not a dating app.

The artstyle and character design is at least better than the softcore porn one finds in a lot of modern fights, like Skullgirls, even Street Fighter V.

What you have said is untrue. People are still interested in this game. For proof you can log on at almost any time and find people playing.

No I wouldn’t say that, they were supposed to have a big tournament a while ago brought a lot of players in which ended up getting causing a good percentage of people to look elsewhere and more recently they lost their partnership with humble games which will likely cause a big delay in major updates

Only people still regularly playing this game are the people with 200+ hours I’m a us East player and I typically never see more than 15 people online during the day and at night you might get 1 to 5 (other servers are typically empty during this time)
