Also it forces you to learn how they play, for example velvet: she tries to stay away and attack with icycles and when you are close enough expect to use her spikes, if you also use Velvet it's kinda easy to use this against her, tho i don't know how it would be with other characters.
Another example is Pom tho, she'll take her dogs out of course but she won't use them until she has connected a hit on you, except with the big doggo, but that one it's super slow and you can hit them tho.
