Pom- Bark move.
It says on the movelist that I have to hold, with an odd key signifying left, then change to right and press attack... am I missing something about the input, I cant get it to work and im not sure how and with what timing im supposed to press this

Hold back for a second (either by moving or crouching) then tap forward and hit the button, that's a charge move.

That's called a "charge motion." You need to hold backward on your joystick for a second (or down-backward, like you're crouch blocking) then hit forward + an attack button. It's something that can take time getting used to if you're not familiar with fighting games. Characters like Guile or Dee Jay in Street Fighter have always been "charge characters."

Incidentally, note that Paprika is the other charge character in this game. She has a back-forward charge AND a forward-back charge.

now, that makes me wonder, can you execute the bark even if you've been blocking in that second?

It's actually somehow easier to pull off charge motions in combos than it is to just do the move by itself. That causes me to find it easier to do her bark than her command dash. Although her command dash has invincibility frames and is pretty important to use vs Velvet players, so it's worth practicing.

As long as you've held the "back" command for the required time it will work even if you were getting hit during that time.
You can work this into combos by holding back while hitting the opponent with ABC or something basic, then releasing the charge motion special move.
