Changing up the music with external Youtube playlists
I've read some people have wanted to change the music (including myself), but it's difficult to do without unpacking some of the game assets. I can understand why one would like additional music since a single campaign can take over 60 hours, which is a lot to ask for listening to the same 3 minute music in the Sectors map.

So what I came up with instead was the following way to hear additional music. Note this technique works best with a second montior:

1) Run the game in a full-screen window, and disable the game's music via the game's Audio settings;

2) On a second monitor, I have two playlists up: One for "Sector" music, and the other for "Battle" music

3) Each playlist is composed of some Battlefleet Gothic music OSTs (Original Soundtracks) that were uploaded to YouTube.

Here are links to some of the OSTs:
This playlist has the combined map/port music and battle music for BFGA:1

And here is a combined playlist of OSTs for BFGA:2:

4) From the two OSTs above you could build your own playlists: one with just Menu/Map/Sector and Port music from both BFGA1 and BFGA2, and then build a second playlist with the Battle music from both games.

5) Then keep both playlists up in a separate window. Then as you are in-game and switch from the Sector map to Battle, you just have to remember to move your mouse over to the other monitor and toggle the music from Sector to Battle and vice-versa.

Since you would have the game running in "full-screen Windowed" mode, that means you could move the mouse seamlessly between the game and the Youtube playlists;

6) You can also set "Shuffle Play" on the Youtube playlist so it randomizes the order of the music somewhat.

7) You can also search for other Youtube Warhammer soundtracks and add to each of your playlists at your leisure. Perhaps some of you can share the playlists as you build them out.

I don't know how well this will work with cutsceens. If you take some game action that would trigger a cut-scene then you may need to pause the active Youtube song before you end-your turn or take the action so the cut-scene music does not get drowned out by the Youtube music.

Of course if the cutscene surprises you, then you should be able to quickly move your mouse over to the Youtube session and pause the active video/song.

Also, another way to do this is to download the videos of the OST tracks from youtube and play them in your own music player, if it will support multiple playlists. That's the route I've taken, but I can't get into detail on how to do that. If you search the internet you'll find ways one can download Youtube videos if you want to go thru the extra trouble.

Anyhow, just wanted to share this idea if anyone was getting frustrated by the lack of music variety in the game.
