After several hours of play hopefully our brains will get used to it.
Nope, no it doesnt.

You can help or help destroy an Eldar Craft world. (Ironically I chose to help the eldar but I got the achivement to destroy it....well done developers!)
This Craftworld, while also a 3D piece of background art is DWARFED by the utter moronic levels of immersion breaking backgrounds in even minor systems....that apparently have space stations larger than the planet itself....
I want to see the backgrounds but they run like ♥♥♥♥ so i dont its messed up
Edit: The planet scale does feel about right though.
Which is exactly what they did. So rather than look like an actually gigantic structure, it looks like a normal size structure that'd be 3-4 times bigger than a cruiser, just blown up to a ridiculous proportion.
Its a shame because some of those models are amazing and arent used in the main systems in each sector as the starbases/port.
Its worse when you consider the Necrons, a faction they gave a campaign mode to has only 5 ship models.
Not really. There are some utterly vast structures in the lore.
Earth has defensive stations that are described as continent sized, there are parts of lore that refer to the Imperium having planet-sized deep space stations.
Missing the point. Back up a few posts.
They don't LOOK like they're actually structures that are thousands of miles across, because they don't possess anywhere close to the level of fine detail you'd see on something like that. Instead, they look like 3D models that were modeled and textured at the size of a battleship and then blown up to 200 times their render size. It looks bad, that's why it's off putting. It might as well be a giant computer monitor or coffee mug floating there.
Differences like Blackstones, Hulks etc being too small are really a product of the game being 'abstract'. Like BFG on the TT, *technically* your ship is actually the spot at the base of the 'stick' and the 'unit circle' represents the nearest couple thousand kilometres to the ship.
Also there are naturally other issues, like the fact torpedo spreads.... well spread, where TT and lore they pretty much go straight lines then auto-home once they get within a couple thousand klicks. (Guided Torpedoes tracking from launch as opposed to at terminal range.)
that would make sense in that context. Also i really wish torpedos worked similar to that in the game. They should at least not spread like they do, because otherwise it makes them a fairly useless long range weapon, except for making an enemy not go that way. Or give them a 500-1000 metre homing range.
