Is the Ark Mechanicus bad or is it just me?

The Ark Mechanicus seems like a huge letdown for the price, especially if you compare it to the Imperial Navy's battleships. How do you properly use the Ark Mechanicus?

Nova cannon spam is really your only option. Otherwise they are cut rate Imperial Navy

Its basically an Oberon, you kinda have to make it your flagship and spec upgrades into it as a flagship. I dont use it in multiplayer but in campaign it makes for a nice tank/distraction carnifex so your fleet of dictators can pop the things that go after the ark.

Eh, the distraction carnifex. For people not up to the meme, it's based on the tabletop wh40k, it's basically a huge monster that looks scary and soaks up a lot of damage. People used to field those, opposing armies would shoot them because they looked scary, and then they would lose because the rest of the army wrecked them.

once you deplete its nova cannons etc, its makes for a good 'tank' taking a decent amount of punishment.

you are technically better just taking lower weight cruisers with nova cannons. The Ark can also feild more escorts per unit which isn't bad, i just spammed Ark/s and Novas(the escort) endgame for an auto combat defense force.
