Campaign cheats/cheat engine?
Hey! so I love the game so far, and the campaign is really fun, but I was wondering if anybody knows how to use cheat engine or how to otherwise edit saves for it? I'm sorta in the mood to screw around in the campaign and make battleships/stupidly powerful fleets to bonk Chaos around with. :D Anybody figure it out? Cheat Engine can't find anything to "read" when I select the .exe

Happy trails!

OMG you are one of those... why cheat?

Different people, different kinds of fun. If he wants to cheat in the campaign what's the problem in that? Older RTS games had cheat codes that would make you invincible in singleplayer and it could be fun now and then.
Because I paid good money to play the game however I wanted, and if I feel like editing my campaign save game where there's 2 battleships casually playing tennis with a Chaos cruiser... Why shouldn't I be allowed to?

Exactly what Lux said! It's rather fun that way. As it is, I've tried looking at the save files in Notepad, but I couldn't Ctrl+F anything like "Income" or "Resources"?

just gonna tag in here - my other thread didn't get any traction - I am looking for more 'general' edits.. eg; Fleet names, or being able to actually PICK what abilities my ships have, rather than have the game force them on me for the first 2 fleets.

Secondary to that, I wouldn't mind a money edit because there's alot of stupid ♥♥♥♥ going on.. Like you have to sell your rank 4 ship to be able to fit buying the next tier of ship into that 'fleet' and you can't just transfer it to a different fleet that has room, and you only get 25% of the value back on it.. what ♥♥♥♥ is this.
Isn't there an anti-cheat system in the game?
My understanding is that it's for MP games, but I'm not sure if anyone has figured out a way of editing saves or the like for single player?

Same - I just want to edit my single player save files.
If you want to edit your campaign save to give you more money/renown then there's an editor for that.

nope if you want to cheat just type -noEAC in command line :) will ban you from mp but it allows you to have as much fun as you want in sp

Sorry to necropost but did a search for cheats and this forum post came up. Can you walk me through the steps to do the -noEAC in command line? I don't know where the command line is located to do this at.

Click on Properties for the game in your Library. Choose Launch Options, under General, and type the line in there.

Could you give some examples? I also have the question: If you use -noEAC but play the game normally will it effect anything?

What would happen if you forgot to remove the -noEAC while you're in MP? Would you get VAC ban?

Of course not!
BFG2s security is very barebones.
If you run modified files in MP is will simply send you back to the main menu. It's no smarter than a simple file check (and even then it misses a bunch of it)
XD

@The OP
You can edit your save files to change certain values.
The other way is simply to mod the game itself, changing ship loadouts and creating new ones.
You can set fleet sizes /ship costs to whatever you desire (60+ ships starts to lag the game though).
Some custom ships:
