Easy Anti-Cheat = Easy Stupidity and Sound Device issue (BGA1 same issue)

Seriously Easy Anti-Cheat.... MT32 emulator is untrusted system file? Guess you guys never played older games from the 80s or 90s.

So I got the pre-order and downloaded the beta. Had to quit the game since I'm encountering sound issues, ie no sounds. This was an issue with the first game as well that would sometimes not detect default sound device and I have to reboot/restart both Windows and BGA1. Once sound is working, switching between Port Maw and Map screen would always have a static scratching sound, other than that sound would work properly.

BGA1 and now BGA2 are the only games in my entire library that has this issue. No other games have sound device or audio quality issue on my end. Writing this off to Unreal engine issue but this could be easily solved if the game actually allowed you to select sound device. I'm sure lots of gamers have multiple sound devices on their system, from Nvidia or Realtek on the motherboard, etc.

This time around I did not even get the default audio device not found like how BGA1 would show. Just no sound, and it's pretty easy to know I have a sound issue with BGA2 because the company logo intros all were silent.

I know my sound devices are working properly and I even doubled check to make sure before posting this.

If I force sound device to Speakers (Steelseries Siberia 840)

then there is sound. If I force sound to Realtek, no sound.

The difference here is Realtek output is optical to Steelseries external DAC while Speakers (Steelseries Siberia 840) is via the USB connection which is also how I power the external DAC.

Again BFA1 and BFA2 are the only games with issue on this setup.

Sound can be a bit glitchy at times but it does work for me. It sucks that you have this problem bro

I have the exact same issue - I use optical! I say get rid of the anti cheat thing!

im glad im not the only one getting pissy with the anti cheat drm trash.

no im not cheating. no im not even thinking about it. i have a low ram machine. the sheer amount of crashes because the drm freezes. i play games with back ground sound. i never have issues until the trash drm starts causing it. this isnt the only game ive have issues with and agian its because i had to replace my computer and i got a low ram machine so the drm causes the crash.

really dont wanna take the time to buy 1 or 2 more sticks of ram because of crashes. cant even ctrl alt to the task manger to close the freaking game because it crashed and locked up the system like its a virus because thats pretty much what drm is. communities this small if you actually cheat people will notice and just not play with you. not to mention the solo single player campaign which is what im playing.

priacy is a service issue. ive had more and more thoughts of joining team yo ho yo ho because of this crap. yes i would buy the game. but jesus chirst lord almighty god in heaven knows this drives me nuts.

its as bad as world of warships temp banning for torp ff on ai that charges to get hit by them

its single player anyone who wants an achievement will get it no matter how long it takes as long as they want it.

same for the bs temp bans those ff temp bans depopulated the the game

same for apex another anti easy cheat bs december no one could log in their ♥♥♥♥♥♥ support its you not us depsite the update clearly causing it and 3 months later like magic it works agian because ea got their head out of their ass and found the bug.

yes i needed to rant this makes me mad now and its everyone these days using drm trash.

we got lets plays which are free for people who just wanna watch and not actually play. they dont need to pirate.

and for the idiots no i dont pirate things i just want the companies to understand how annoying this is on the user end experience and how wide spread its becoming with nonsense from them. this kinda crap makes sure people who like your games dont buy the next one and treat you like a dead company.

If can't resolve this today, I'll be consigning the game to the unplayable bin and won't be buying another one if they bring it out. As for Ram I have 32gb and I've made all swap files 16gb which is 4 times normal. I have 12gb VRAM too, my machine specs kill this game in 4K or used to before they ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up!

your gonna have to cut and paste the "bad file" in and out. i doubt the devs will ever fix it and even if they can they will give the typical customer no service responses. if its even possible youll have to spend a hour or 2 trying to figure out where to move it to prevent the error. this game cant possibly be big enough to justify always online drm. signed captian obvious


op issue is a file conflict from some other game tripping the drm. the only bright side is its an issue he can bypass but agian another issue that shouldnt be an issue in the first place.

i here people cry about ark which also has anti easy cheat, but this game and apex legends are the only ones where i get drm issues crashing and sound issues. both are anti easy cheat related. pretty sure ram and cpu dont even factor it. i think the ram is the difference between it getting stuck and locking up the thing that triggers it is tabbing to change the back ground noise usually youtube when its loading a turn. for me anyways

im with the op. i get a different error but its annoying to be told security blah blah detected closing because of an alt tabbing.

Managed to get round the crash issue, by reviewing the crash reports. I seemed there was a corrupted file I re-verified and the that missed it so uninstalled and reinstalled.

The optical speaker issue is still there. IE no sound from my speakers, but works with head phones at least.
