After you have selected fleets and skills, click launch and you will be able to decide wich factions to play against and the difficulty.
IE: You have to invite a friend in order to play 2v2 skirmish, the game does not allow you to play it alone.
Some of us kinda stopped playing because of the progression system. I like the direction they took. If we bring back persistant fleet management, it should be in the form of new Campagins, or whatever the grand Grand campagin is they are teasing.
thats nice for you but others like me played the first in skirmish for hundreds of hours and liked it.
i bought the game day one as the presale started because they stated that the game would be like the first but bigger with more fleets and i was hyped. the only thing that has keept me from refunding is the hope that the devs will bring the skirmish mode back later on.
right now i play the Tyranid Campaign as far as i have seen the cutscenes between the sectores are the same for every campaigne, the tyranid vanguard mechanic is broken or working as intended, i realy dont know.
you deploy troops in every system and than you wait for 15 turns bam the whole sector is under your controle. i did it by ecident with the Medusa Sector while i was mopping up the Eldar in the second sector. so if you dont want to drown some planets in splinter fleet after splinter fleet, which you cant couse money, you infest every fortifyed system and wait it out.
Necrons were an asymetric faction in the TT they were stronger faster and tougher as all other races but if one of your ships got bit more than scratched it would phase out and you had lost by points even if you destroyed the enemy fleet. now they are no necrons but a generic space Tombking ******* (no fan of the redcon obviously).
no one demands that they change the MP but it bogles my mind that some people like you, for what ever reason you might have, are so adamant in denying other people, who want their
favourite gamemode from the first game back, their fun.
i try to finish the Tyranid Campaing befor my attention span is over.
no desire to progress with necrons as they are now and Empire ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ after that i probably never touch the game again becaus there is nothing to do. DLC would be a case to case decision, but right now there is more speaking against it.
rant over
I'm a strong supporter of skirmish mode but whats the difference between this one and the one of the first gothic armada?
As far as i know there is progression in this one by unlocking skills and upgrades, the rewards are broken sure and you cant get portrait from playing only skirmish (which bothers me a lot) but whats the difference between this and the first skirmish that you guys are talking about?
It's nice for MP, I get it, but I really liked the levelling skirmish of the original. It's where more of my time went.
thx
As it is now you cant.
You only can choose how many points the ai has (in the difficulty selection screen) to make things harder for you.
So thats another problem and it sucks.
