Chaos Campaign Ships and Tips
I'm thinking about starting a chaos campaign, but wanted to see if any admirals have any tips to share. Is lance boating viable or is it mostly a macro / carrier build that will get me through the tough battles?

Chaos has given me new appreciation for lances, but squadrons can absolutely carry the day as well.

I think it's a good idea to focus your fleets on one or the other though. Not sure how well a mixed fleet performs.

Some older threads mentioned lance dmg as subpar due to armor changes between Armada 1 or 2, but I'm not sure if more recent patches have fixed those issues.

Chaos doesn't really have good macro options. And be sure to build your fleet around a single idea rather than mixing, I find fleet comps much more effective that way. There are fully lance-equipped ships that are cheaper than anything else, so you can stack them up.
Chaos also has really powerful carriers. During the campaign, be on the lookout for places to capture that increase the speed of your squadrons. When using a carrier fleet, send out 1-2 fighters to keep their turrets busy, then send in bombers or boarding parties, then recall the fighters. Once you get powerful enough in the campaign, you can straight-up just delete a ship from the fight with your bombers every cooldown.

Thanks. Guess I'll give lance and carrier fleets each a try.
