So yes indeedy, i dont think you are supposed to "win" as such.,
I reduce the Phalanx to 0 hp, destroy all it's weapons and will not disengage. I even tried boarding it but cannot reduce it's crew past red 49 no matter what. there are no further mission objectives on screen and the mission will not end.
The phalanx simply roams around in god mode ramming all remaining ships to death if it can catch up to them.
I am at a loss as to how to end this mission.
1. The quote~ "None of our ships are in range to stop the Phalanx's emergency jump" Literally meaning that you can't have any ship close enough to board the Phalanx at that point of dialogue
2. You need to destroy the small spawn of ships that are on the map. Not sure if there's one on each side or on just the one you reach first, but anyhow that's theory two.
I think theory one 1 is much more probable as I had completed the mission to that point many times without really losing my shields by simply juking the Phalanx inside a bigger cloud. And every time I got the bug I was practically hugging the side of Phalanx so the quote about not being able to stop the warp jump makes sense. And many people here would seemingly support as they say "I shot it from afar" and in a roundabout way saying "Didn't go to boarding range". Theory 2 is just pretty much my own sighting that has very little probability of being true.
Also, yes, ♥♥♥♥ this mission so ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ irritating. Like the mission is easier than a 3k invasion fleet; however, because of the bug, it took me way way too much time.
