How do you start a co-op game?
Hey all.

So a friend and I were planning to live stream some of the co-op campaign tonight. I know the idea of co-op is that each player controls half the fleet but what I don't understand is how you actually start a co-op game.

I've completed the Prologue campaign that's also the tutorial. From what I've read, you start a mission and there's supposed to be an icon in the upper-right that you click on to invite someone. Except no matter what campaign I start, there is no such icon. I spent over an hour trying to find an answer last night and came up empty.

Does anyone know how you actually start co-op missions in the latest update? Thanks! :)

You need to complete the Prologue most of sector 1 in the imperial campaign and the intro mission for each campaign to invite friends.

Prologue is tutorial to ship actions and movement.
Imperial Campaign sector 1 is tutorial for sector improvements and ship building.
Introductions mission for each campaign start to introduce you to that race.
After doing these you can play with friends.
Note: both players have needed to do this.

Unless devs have changed this, its what you had to do each time with a new player/ account

Top right corner among the "who even uses these?" buttons .. https://imgur.com/DAIsOMv

I am actually disappointed you cant use proper fleets as it gets cut in half, at least now you can use custom difficulty to force bigger fleets, maybe it will work on coop too ..
Not at my home machine so I can't grab a screenshot right now but those buttons above the map in your screenshot are straight up not there for me. The upper-right corner of my screen is the map and that's it.

Now, I've only done the Prologue campaign and only tried starting the new campaigns right away and didn't see the button there. Do I have to get a certain amount into a campaign before they become available?

EDIT: Oh wait a second, that screenshot is of the strategic map. I'm guessing you don't get to see that until you complete the first mission in one of the campaigns?

Yes you have to complete the very first mission which you should auto load into when you click play campaign and then you can invite your friend or heretic to the slaughter.

Just a question to the Devs:

Have you fixed the random crashes which occurred in co-op?, because i haven't played for about 2 months now and have not seen any update regarding this since release of the co-op 1.0 were apparently many issues were fixed but some people still had issues.

OK so that first mission is a thing in all of the campaigns? I beat the Prologue campaign's missions. Essentially, it looks like I can only invite someone once we get to the strategic map, yes? That helps a lot if so, they just don't make it clear. :)
A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

Makes perfect sense. I would definitely suggest they either put a pop up box or something else to make this clear cause I've been playing games for a long time and had to do some digging to figure this out. :)

Thank you very much! Looking forward to streaming this with my friend tonight.
