My solution is to play in Classic Career mode where I often have dozens of missions pop-up within 2-5km before requiring a fast travel boat/aircraft for farther missions. And I enjoy playing with minimum tech and researching to unlock more. Normal career mode feels boring since the only motivation is make more money requiring basically one good boat that you max out from day 1 since all parts are unlocked.
Also, a fast main do-it-all-rescue boat means more fuel burnt which means less profits and, did I say, I'm lazy. Not always but often.
Are you kidding me? The fastest ship I have travels at 20m/s and has enough fuel for 20km, maximum.
I don't have helicopter technology or workbenches. That's why I need missions in my vicinity!
Also, I don't want to spend 95% of my playtime travelling
I am playing classic career, because this is the only purposeful game mode.
But there are no missions in a reachable distance anymore.
