Right now, I'm running a 14 meter sport fishing boat with a 40 meter line and, I'm estimating, 40 meter wide net. At trawling speeds, it sits probably no deeper than 20 meters, so I'm only catching shallow fish. And catching shallow fish works better in shallow waters near the islands, where the depths are no more than maybe 50 meters. I get pretty decent haul, but it does take a while.
And as soon as I start to go deeper, the catch rate drops off because the boat isn't really designed to handle it.
