Multiplayer Lag
has this issue ever been addressed? my friend in the UK and I would love to play the game but we have always suffered from the game lagging because of connection and what not because for some reason that is how they decided to deal with it?

US/Europe client hosted multiplayer will be laggy for the respective Europe/US player, regardless of game. Your best bet is to try to split the difference and find a public server where you have comparable pings. At least then you should see similar performance, even if it is still sub-optimal.

However, for a physics heavy game like Stormworks, multiplayer is never going to be perfect, even in the best conditions.

I do multiplayer streams often. Most of the people I play with are in Europe while I'm on the east coast of the US. I host. Usually most of the European players are within five frames of me. Do you have a good internet connection? Do you have a good PC? Are your builds reasonably optimized?

Yeah, havent touched the game in a long time. We played way back and it was just so disappointing because of the slow down affect. We both have good internet connection and pcs. Just wondered if anyone could tell me if they had done anything to maybe help the issue. So this gives me some hope.

There was a point in time just before the Space DLC released that the game functioned pretty alright. Like, not perfect, but I (in the US) was able to play with a friend in Canada with little issues. I don't know what happened, but since that updated, the lag is just ferocious. He can be standing perfectly still and his character's position will rocket from the core of the Earth into space. I keep checking back in every once in a while, because I desperately want to play, but it's always the same. For the record, our ping is like 150 ms to one another usually.

I have tried playing with some other friends, and there is still a lot of lag weirdness, but it's usually manageable, until a sea crate decides it no longer wants to be tethered to this mortal world, and everything catches fire. Back when the game was functioning ok, we did also have issues with the position of a small crate that we had to transport. All three of us playing saw it in a different spot, and it caused some really funky things to happen when more than one of us tried to pick it up.

The game just seems to hate the Canadian friend in particular though.

I've had a suspicion like the others have suggested that a dedicated server would mitigate some of the issues, but I haven't had an opportunity to try it yet.
