should we have the ability to spawn NPCs?
I think yes so then you can get people on your vehicle so then we don't need to do work and bring a survivor

The current NPCs are nothing more than mobile healthboxes, and yet they have been that way since they were originally implemented roughly six years ago. What you are asking for is unlikely to ever happen, as it would require the developer to admit that many of the core systems and updates added to the game are done so in a barebones, tech-demo state never to be touched again regardless of how buggy they get as new systems are added or how much they detract from the overall experience. These neglected systems include, but are not limited to, NPCs, career mode, the research system, vehicle and financial management, multiplayer, AI craft, modular engines, natural disasters, oil spills, pets, combat, industry, and space.

Yes, we should have the ability to hire and assign AI crew to our vehicles, but even that will never happen.

Spawning NPCs in is important for testing as the NPCs have weight. On game release they didnt.

For small craft like life boats or micro copters the affect of a few people weight can greatly affect balance.

Large vehicles wouldnt notice.

Also, NPCs are nice for screenshots.

I do believe there is mods for spawning NPCs.

I am talking about non functional NPCs vs AI NPC gunners etc.

i would sey at an npc spanwer would be good bc its annoying when they drop on your ship they just go long way and you cant find them so yes

NPCs become weightless when you place them in seats. At least my testing seems to suggest that. Surely that is a feature and not a bug..?
