The compact pivot goes above the wheel on the front landing gear
With it on high I have never had to change gear ratio of spam weight. Often I can run it without locks on lighter builds.
When the physics settings are in lower settings, things like robotic pivots kinda' become 'rubber' and will flex in unexpected ways. But the 'taxi' pivot on your aft gear behaves as expected on my system.
My only qualm with your design is that you've designed something that completely ignores the fulcrum principles governing most all aircraft.

It's possible that you can be breaking your taxi pivot on takeoff as well, from downward force applied by having your tail gear WAY too close to the pivot point.
