Jet Engine Problems
So, I'm using a PID to make throttle less sensitive (so it doesn't feel like just 0 or 100) for my jet engines and now they don't run. Help?

Proportional Gain:0.15
Integral : 0.00001
Derivative: 0.1
Max: 1

the process variable is the rps of the combustion chamber

Jet setup: small intake , compressor , medium turbine, combustion chamber , afterburner exhaust

also sometimes just randomly loses all thrust while flying for like 10~ seconds before going back to normal, usually only happens once per flight

The assembly order should be intake, compressor, combustion chamber, turbine, exhaust.

The intake intakes air. The compressor compresses that air. The combustion chamber mixes that air with fuel and combusts it. The combusted air fuel mixture then turns the turbine blades. Which is shaft connected to the compressor blades. The hot gas mixture is exhausted post turbine section.

To make a throttle less sensitive connect it to a function and give the function x/2 and make the throttle go from 0-200, then out of the function go to what ever you are using to control the jet engine, and you wont need a pid.

No, I meant from a up/down input, not from throttle. I appreciate the answers so far though.

And, everytime I tried a PID, it wouldn't run.

I always use a pid. Very simple, just a P value of 1.

Great, Thank you.

One last question. Using this setup, is there anyway I can make the throttle less sensitive? as in, trying it, It stays the same going down in throttle then I hit this point where all rpm drops very quickly

If you are using a throttle there is a sensitivity slider on it directly. If using an Up/Dn counter decrease the rate.

The sensitivity doesn’t matter, the rpm drop still happens. Its not linear, I’m just going down in throttle and nothing happens before the rps suddenly drops by like half

I would have to look at the build to help

the stop and go thing is just lagging and for the pid thing take the pid out and go into the editor mode where everything is blue and click on the throttle bar.there will be a thing u can grab and move that changes the senitivity of the throttle

Did you even read my messages above? The throttle sensitivity doesn’t matter

I would, but my plane is in a state right now where I'm still trying to figure out what to do
