Yeah sorry it's a beta game and steam kinda gives new game creators a home. For instance a game creator would choose not to go mane stream and instead use steam and sell they're game for like 20 bucks. Stormworks will hopefully be available on multiple platforms in the future but our current situation only allows steam downloads.
If you wanna try out a sorta similar game there's one for PS4 called terratech it kinda blends stormworks and scrap mechanic.

Porting to console would require complete redesign of the UI, which is a significant amount of work, and then they'd have to pay licensing fees to Sony on top of that, after which they'd have to give a cut of every sale as well.

Ever wonder why most console games are 50-60€/$? It's an awful marketplaces with lots of fees.

Never will be on any console. Not just because of UI and additional time to port but more because it's a truly sandbox game with a less as possible player creativity limitations that often lead to system performance issues. It's not something that can pass Microsoft/Sony quality control and, be honest, not something that console players need.

because I generally don't like it when they do it the other way round, ie when you buy a PC game that clearly was ported from console. It never feels quite right on PC, imo.
