Ships no longer flood or sink
Is anyone having trouble sinking ships?
Damage no longer allows water to enter ship. Hatches and door ways don't allow water to pass either.

That's the pressure working against the incoming water.
As it is for now, it's highly unrealistic.
However, you can solve this by pumping out all remaining gases/air out of the room(s) before opening any hatches or do your C4 business.

Well hopefully StormWorks fine tunes it

Since it's a "feature" which the useless new space dlc introduced 3 month ago and the defs seem to consider the game as "working as intended", albai all the old bugs and the new ones (thanks to space dlc), I highly doubt that anything is going to change.
Well at least till the next dlc which will break everything again like all past dlc did...🙄👍

Let's be positive...Now, thanks to the new mechanics, we can sink AND unsink ships without using any exploits.
Pump air intpo tanks = make space for incoming water = sink
Pump air back into room to push water back into the ocean = unsink
So basicly we can build more realistic subs now.

And...don't use pumps only(anymore). they have restriced to 10 l/s in/out of the ocean.
There is no difference if using small or big pumps in such cases.

If only it was more realistic now, using flood tanks for ballast does not work as gas does not escape from open doors as of now which is really annoying for me as ive spent a few days designing a sub which had flood tanks with separate air tanks to push the air out after diving to return

The way I made my sub is that the air from the ballast tanks is pumped into empty storage tanks. This decreases pressure in the tanks allowing the water to be pumped in faster.

For emptying the tanks a valve is opened letting the high pressure air into the ballast tank. This helps the pumps push the water out.
