RX directional antennas

Working on long range cruise missiles, wanted to know if the RX directional must be pointed at another directional, or if it can work with the standard radio (eg missile has a radio rx huge, guiding ship has a directional antenna pointed at it for more than 20km range)

additional question, what's the FOV of the directional antennas?

I cannot answer your first question, as I have not tested it yet, but the Directional antenna con be rotated 45 degrees in either direction, and pivoted 360 degrees. Check out my directional antenna system, it might help:
