15 knots isn't too lofty a goal, what did you try so far?
Lotrex Dec 15, 2023 @ 6:14am
the more you use it the lower the speed goes
Lotrex Dec 15, 2023 @ 6:14am
i have gotten 13-14 knots
Lotrex Dec 15, 2023 @ 6:15am
but after using it for a couple of minutes it goes down to 9 knots

i have tried almost all of the ratios in all of the directions

I have not taken a look at it, but 1. make sure you are recharging the batteries, 2. you are not running out of fuel or your fuel lines are not clogged (use liquid relief valves), 3. you are not using direct seawater cooling, as that scales your engines and stop them from working after a while.

isnt scaling broken though? and has been for years i thought.

Nope. After about 15-30 minutes of runtime, the engine seizes and quits, due to a buildup of salt.

scaling happens when the engine exceeds 100 degrees. Back in the day you could easily run seawater as coolant (like real vessels) as it kept the engines nice and cool and scaling wouldn't be an issue. But then we had to get Space DLC so the fun times are gone.

Is your air intake in a sealed space? They will take the air out of the room after awhile and kill the engine slowly after a bit.

Just had a quick look.

Don't merge exhaust pipes, every modular engine exhaust manifold needs its own pipe all the way to the outlet, otherwise it can (and will) clog up, reducing performance or worst case, stalling the engine.

A 3x3 is way too underpowered for a ship like this, especially considering the amount of ore storage. All that decorational mumbo-jumbo makes it hard to tell what's supposed to be functional and what isn't.

A 5 or 8cyl 5x5 should easily be able to push it to ~35-45kts with rps below 12 and also would be easier to cool than a 3x3 that's clearly underpowered for this purpose.

I also doubt it'll stay upright when fully loaded, the ore containers are way too high, those few mass blocks on the keel won't do much to counter it and will act as dead weight most of the time. Better move ore storage as low as possible, helps a ton.
