also isnt default world empty so building weapons/spawn enemies then you know hwere they are

It's a building game. If you don't enjoy building you're probably not going to have a good time.
This is exactly what the game is. What did you think it was when you bought it? Also, if you don't have the weapons dlc, you can't spawn enemies.
problem is how the game is *ahem* "marketed" by youtube. I got sucked in thinking it would be totally different. Now I do all the math I was supposed to learn in high school and obsessively/compulsively custom shade all of my paint for hours on end to make all of my custom made parts look right in the sun....
Having a non spherical projection in the editor would also go a long way for making blueprints/schematics.
