Has anyone on here successfully make a hydrogen engine ? Seen someone on redit who posted about the idea.

i dont think its possible in stormworks even though fluid tanks can contain water

Engines treat all gasses as air, unfortunately.

I successfully Created a hydrogen modular engine that uses diesel to "keep it going" it uses .02 L of diesel a second and 98% Hydrogen. I took it a step farther and took a compressed air tank and stuck it on the intake to I can put it in a submarine and it worked flawlessly on the test skid.

Sure. When I get home from my hitch I will post it and comment on here with a link

I did something similar to tmccanna, except without the hydrogen part (I don’t own the space DLC since I was holding off until something happened that I recently learned isn’t going to (I forgive their reasoning tho and might buy it now)).

I have an underwater pod I need to finish building. It has a diesel-electric generator to keep the life support operational. I used a compressed gas tank (filled with normal air) and a fluid flow valve to fill an expansion tank and then the engine gets its air from that tank. Weirdly, the exhaust tank will only pressurize to I forget how many ATM, but it was a relatively small number. In my own game, the engine keeps running, but in other people’s, the engine quits as soon as that number is hit.

The gas systems and tanks work fine without the DLC. All the DLC gives you is functional space parts and access to space. Nothing else.

Well, yeah, but my underwater pod kinda needs the electrolyzer part. I can get away with just having oxygen tanks probably, but that becomes another limiting factor into how long the pod can be occupied. Not to mention the “leaky valve” issue.

Still not posted eh?

I made a hydrogen system for a car and it worked surprisingly well for a few minutes

But it runs out of fuel quickly

engines physically cannot run on fuel, ive done a LOT of testing to prove this but any hyrdogen just disappears when pumped into a manifold and engines WILL NOT start. Any engine that "works" using diesel is just running on diesel.

i have made a engine that, yes it need a litle amount of disel but after startup it work purely on just hydrogen and oxigen.

Can you please post the engine you made to the workshop so that we can see what you did which makes that work?
