Where X is the major version, Y is the minor version, Z is the sub-version and B is the build number.
As for your example, the "zz" are typically "hotfix" numbers (applies to Stormworks as well).
@OP:
Like it has been said, versioning is not using decimal numbers the same way math does..
For Stormworks' example, the release would be "1.0.0" as per established version numbering it has (current ver 0.10.6).
That's because Keen House Soft are crazy and silly and i want to give them more headpats than your average moegirl.
So... make one? It's so easy a wee bab could do it. All you need is a numerical switchbox tied to a clutch. Couldn't be simpler. Use a microcontroller so you don't need to clutter your thing with the logic parts.
