How to use hotkeys 7-9?

This is one of the most confounding things to me. Why are you limited to only 1-6 as usable hotkeys and not 7 - 9 or even 7,8,9,0 like virtually every other game has?

When you go to the controls in settings, there isn't even an option to assign hotkeys past 6. Yet when you look at a chair, it looks like you should be able to.

So what am I missing here?

Yes but it's the same problem: it has lots of hotkeys to assign but I don't see how you assign a hotkey above 6.

HOTAS seats are to be used with HOTAS equipment, although i suppose they could theorethically also work with keyboards, given that you've more than 100 buttons at your disposal that aren't bound to anything.

Ok but I've just doubled checked the other seats and they all seem to only be 1-6. Why isn't there any seats with 1-9 or 1-0 as hotkeys? What is 7-0 assigned to if not the seats? Nothing that I can see.

Seat hotkeys are already a precious commodity and I'm still scratching my head why we are limited to 6 when the other 4 keys to the right of that don't do anything far as I can tell.

Most likely because seat buttons are intended to be shortcuts-at-best and not the be-all end-all solution. I rarely use seat bindings for anything that isn't a physical button already.

The "Pilot Seat (HOTAS)" part has 1-48 assignable hotkeys for on/off buttons.

You map those hotkeys in the game settings: (Esc Key) Settings -> Controls

If you look in the game settings, you can see what the current key bindings are. ...and change them. I imagine you could remap the HOTAS seat for keys 0-9 if you wanted to.

Once you have your HOTAS controller mapped in the game settings... Should work just fine.

Tried that. If you try to assign say, the 8 key to the 8 HOTAS key, it says you cannot because 8 is already reserved for something else, but it doesn't tell you what else, nor do I see it listed as being assigned to anything.

Yeah, I see... they say the keypad keys are all reserved.

Taking it a step further, notice there is an "X" next to the 8 HOTAS key assignment. If you click it I thought it would clear the assignment and then maybe let you then reassign. Only problem is, it asks you to confirm you want to clear the assignment... if you do confirm... it does nothing.

I'm thinking it's a bug with the keybinding assignment in the game settings. I might have to submit a bug report for that one if I can get a few confirmations.
