how do I put an NPC in a vehicle seat when making a custom mission?

i am trying to have characters sitting in specific vehicles, so I can use their AI to make them shoot at me, but i can't figure out how to get them into a vehicle seat in the first place. help is appreciated thanks in advance

Pick them up, go to the seat and I think you click "E?" It'll tell you the button.

You have to do this in the workbench. Load the vehicle, klick on the seat with the selection tool and choose the ai toon you desire. Save the vehicle and use it in the mission editor.
I don't know if there is also a fighting ai to be placed, but it can drive vehicles.

No fighter helper ai in vanilla but they're answer to someone asking for it on bug tracker is there is already a mod for that lol.
