And after my almost 2000 hours in the game that I have bought this game from day 1 I heard about it and bought weapons dlc the day it came out and the industry one a month or two after it's release.
If this happens to me I'm forever retiring from this game, this forum and boycott the company.
And I boycotted Rockstar so boycotting little companies like this won't be a problem.
Would not surprise me a single bit. There is no detail I've about which exact anticheat they are using; could be some in-house concoction as far as I know, which would pose an issue as these guys:
-Are obviously human and prone to error
-Seemingly don't test what they dish out
-Apparently still take what they got (in terms of anticheat) seriously enough to dish out VAC-adjacent bans (AKA "Game Bans")
-Also have been inconsistent with the information they have given, as far as I know
-And sound like they are ban-happy in their own discord server
i play a heavily modded game, and that doesnt happen.. so i would doubt a workbench would do it.
I have checked the anti-cheat data and I can see that this player has a report for pirating DLC.
Our data clearly shows that their client is faking DLC ownership and the data also shows the modified executable code that they have used to do this, so there is no mistake.
And the Steam API confirms that they do not own the DLCs.
Unfortunately, it is very common for pirates to claim innocence and bewilderment. We don't understand why. This has lead to many false stories about how the anti-piracy is unfair and punishing innocent people.
Each time we hear this, we are worried we may have made a mistake. This would be terrible because punishing legit players by accident would be completely unacceptable. But then we check the data and every time, it clearly shows beyond any doubt, that they are being dishonest.
The game ban for this player has now been verified and applied.
