Do magnets work at all?
I've followed all of the instructions I know of for these stupid magnetic connectors, both are turned on, and in EXTREME proximity to eachother, have been oriented the same direction a hundred times and there seems to be no attraction whatsoever?

I think its a bid nonsensical to have the magnets be so impossibly finicky, I've been trying to pick a drone out of the water for over two hours with literally no results whatsoever. Why wouldn't the magnets be a little bit stonger, when the magnets are literally touching and there is no attraction it doesn't make any sense, especially in a game with WAVES

Honestly is the only way to connect magnets to have both magnets perfectly still and oreiented completely over eacother without a mm of wiggle room on both sides?

the tips of them have to be lit up and basically have to touch in order for them to connect, its a pain

Both are lit up and have made contact multiple times but nothing happens at all, they just flop past eachother and show no sign of wanting to connect at all

Well, at least I know simple connectors work on tanker tug missions, and the tanker's connector doesn't even need to be lit up.

you know that you can edit the magnet force in the editor?

No, you can't. At least not for hinge connectors

Thanks for the feedback. The hinge connectors are really weak at the moment and, as you say, annoyingly difficult to get to connect. Improving them is on our backlog, but in the meantime you should try out the small connector which currently works a lot better (the drones also have the small connectors on the nose)

Thanks for the suggestion! Also unrelated, but will compact linear rails be getting a down/up logic input?
RoboJon  [developer] Feb 17, 2018 @ 3:01am
It's unlikely. The reason they don't at the moment is because each logic node needs its own voxel within the component. We could add more logic nodes to the compact ones, but they'd have to be slightly less compact. So for now at least, there's a tradeoff between increased functionality and size
Oh, well thats kinda unfortunate but it makes sense! Thanks for the responses, the developer involvement with this game is really on point and it just makes this game even better. If I could ask about one more unrelated point though, are there any plans to add the creative mode mission selector like we had in the first two alphas or does that interfere with the new system? Thanks again I really appreciate these answers

No problem. And yeah the mission selector didn't really work with our new mission system hence why it was removed. I can't go into specifics yet because we're still finalising our early access roadmap, but we do have a rough plan to update the missions in a way that will allow that feature to return in the future!

For the drone mission, it is too difficult to connect the small connector on the drone (horizontal) to the small connector attached to a winch that is attached to my helicopter (verticle).

It would be a nice feature to be able to connect the small connectors manually: hold E to pick up one end, press E on the other connector and they would attach themselves, just like how you can pick up a passenger and place he/ she on a seat.

Due to the difficulty of performing such a task, I just used two linear track module and made a clamp (the drone has 2 sets of fins and the clamp can get stuck nicely between them).
