large jet intake
Could someone explain or share a photo of how the large jet intake is placed? I've tried everything I can think of and I can't get it to work. Strangely enough, I've found that if I place it directly over the ducting, it allows the jets to start but not produce thrust; any other position won't allow the jets to start. but I can't figure out how to make it actually work as an intake. Thanks.

Post your creation to Steam Workshop so players can take a look. Most folks i've seen so far had trouble with how the engine is even suppose to work.

Pretty weird part, but I got it sorted out. Basically it leeches power from the jet engine in order to provide thrust... it's basically an intake AND a direct drive propeller. Since it leeches so much power, if you have your turbine trying to do anything else, you'll overpower the engine and it won't be able to start.

You always can add more comusters&turbines. And it not weird. It exactly how such things work in real life

This would typically be called a turbofan, ducted fan or even turboprop if it's not ducted. It is definitely seems weird to call it an intake, a more accurate name would reduce confusion.

Shame we can't use the other ducted fans for intake though, or ram air.

Yes that is correct, that's how it works IRL.

The only problem is that the game never tells you nor hints you nor it actually forces you to create proper connection with pipes unlike it does with any other engine (power shafts via piping).

Which is on the same level of being bizarre as Rotations Per Second (RPS) reading on combustion chamber which IRL contains no rotating parts whatsoever or that compressor and turbine have separate RPS readings while IRL these are connected via solid shaft.

I think the thing that threw me off most is that there isn't any connection to drive the "intake" fan, it's literally just sitting at the end of an air duct with no electrical or shaft or power connection at all. Lol. I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure this isn't how it works IRL.

Yea exactly, this isn't how it is suppose to work at all :-D
