Multiplayer lag - Lan server
Why is the game lagging so much despite having only small vehicles and with a decent internet connection and damn good computers?

Is this game still just unoptimised for multiplayer or something?

Its basically a slide show when I try to play with my friend on the same damn internet and yet it lags as if we got 10 million vehicles

The ai dont even wreck the framerate that much, its just when a vehicle, no matter the size, is spawned and thats when the slideshow begins.
Why does this happen, and is there a way to fix this?

To get the most out of this laptop it needs to be plugged in and you need to set the energy management to "high performance".
The host should be the computer with the best single core performance AND it should be dedicated (=runs the game server but does not play the game).
Your laptop can NOT handle hosting the game and having it played at the same time.

Your laptop is built for low power consumption but that kills performance.
That's what the "U" in the CPU stands for. It means it runs on extra low mhz for ultra power saving. BUT stormworks needs high mhz for high single core performance.
Same with the grafics card, max-q stands for low power consumption at the cost of performance.

Sorry but NOT a damn good gaming computer. Even not a gaming laptop. My 5 year old gaming pc exceeds it in every performance aspect by at least 30 %.
The biggest problem regarding stormworks is the weak single core and weak 64 bit performance of the CPU. The low budget grafics card does not affect stormworks.

The U in CPU does NOT stand for power consumption
Rog Zepheryus laptop w/ rtx 3070 works fine

Well thats what happens when you play on high physics with large unoptimized creations.

Do you even meet suggested specs?

Not all games are the same in how they run and place demand on your computer. My old gaming laptop ran Arma and Rust fairly well with settings turned down, but struggled with Stormworks.

Upgraded to a proper gaming PC and the difference is astounding.

Check your specs against system requirements. You can't play this game on your mom's laptop with a weak wifi connection and expect it to handle multiplayer like a game with dedicated servers.

Turn every setting down, especially physics detail. Be sure to update your drivers and check that they're updated regularly.
Minimize clutter. Don't spawn giant creations. It stinks, I know. I was there living laptop hell too man. Save up for a better rig long term and meet the games demands halfway in the mean time.

Befor you post nonsens better inform yourself.

https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/processors/processor-numbers.html

And as reading and understanding seems not to be your kind of stuff THIS is the important info on the webside i linked for you

"The SKU suffix is another key indicator of the processor’s capabilities. These remaining differences are indicated by a letter-based product line suffix. For example, within the Intel® Core™ processor series, U indicates a processor that has been designed for power-efficient laptops or 2 in 1s. Meanwhile, XE indicates an “extreme edition” processor for desktops designed for maximum performance."

Also I highly daupt that a Asus Rog Zepheryus gaming laptop uses an intel U prozessor.
