Still it's annoying because it happens way to often and unless you are in a flying vehicle you can not escape it.
Beside the huge tsunami wave I also get quiet often a much smaller freak wave which still floods the area but only by 1 meter or so. I do not know if this is the rest of a far far away tsunami or a different event.
Someone said there is a slider on the mod activation page when starting a new save to adjust the rarity of the different Desaster. I have not tested this yet.
Yeah, It would be nice if the wave did not cover the whole map, I dont mind the rouge waves, i could live with them. I haven't yet checked, but if its possible to disable tsunamis i think i might do that. I like the whirlpools and just the other events in general though. I just don't like how when your early on in your career, RNG can screw you over with the wave covering the whole map.
If there is no option which I thought there was...
THERE NEEDS TO BE A TOGGLE OFF DISASTERS OPTION FOR CUSTOM GAMES.
You mean they added the same frequency of the disasters to Carreer games?
Welp Im done with career then No way Im going to risk my boats that I spent hours on creating with little to nothing to a trip that will take me 45 mins to do and have 3 tsunamis before I get there. No thanks.
I can see adding it to career IF the mission is part of it. But not just like its doing in custom mode then all builds are done for because a single Tsunami wipes out the entire map.
and a massive cargo ship that survive a Tsunami is absolutely not a one size fits all for missions. Thats Bogus.
The Carrer has a system where they won't happen for 20-80 days, and when they do they are pretty rare, and only start increasing in frequency after awhile. If you're playing in custom mode and don't want disasters just make a quick creative game and turn it off. If you want them to happen less commonly in career you can also turn down the frequency. No need to complain when you have a simple solution.
Im not Sure that this is totally accurate, Im sure this is what the devs have said, but i had a save where i started with a disaster. It made me sad haha.
Sorry I meant they have a low chance of happening, you just got unlucky
