There's three types of pivots. Velocity, Robotic, and the generic pivot. Velocity pivots and robotic pivots function similarly in the way that they can be used to remotely move an object. For example you can use these pivots to create a wheel, spinning radar, turret, etc. The other pivot however, does not use electricity or logic. It is free standing and works similarly to a chain or a hinge if that makes sense. If you want to use a pivot to create a special angled section, I would use a robotic pivot or a robotic door hinge. They both work in the same way, you set a rotation target in order to aim them. I've linked an example of all the pivots in action I made, but if you need any more help or would like to see full examples of them on creations let me know.
