Gearbox not working with jet engine.

Title says it all, really. I've connected everything up and never even messed with the settings on the gearbox, both settings are 1:1, but for whatever reason the afterburner will simply not activate when there's a gearbox. I connected it to the battery and have every connection properly done. What could be the issue?
