How do linear tracks work?
How do they work? There's nothing like "linear track wheel" or something, just bases that only have a numerical node or track extensions that don't help either.

The track base parts are the foundation for what you want to have moving on the track. Start by placing one of those and then run the same size track extension next to that, but make sure they are aligned properly. To make it move, simply have a toggle button connected one of the inputs, and connected to a not gate which connects to the other input. There are a wide variety of ways to get it working, but that is the simplest way to have a toggle switch.

You can't add a switch to a base, it only has a node to connect to displays

My bases have three logic points, one green for determining offset, and two red inputs, one red for positive motion and one for negative motion.

My bases just have a single green node

There are compact sliders (single block wide) and larger sliders (3 blocks wide) with correspondingly sized rail extensions. The larger slider accepts input from switches (2 red logic connections) and outputs a number (slider position). The smaller one accepts numerical logic input (1 green input connection) so you can connect the left/right output from the pilot chair to a slider, for example. You can also wire a more complex logic circuit to use switches to operate the compact slider if you want.

Yeah, I know, I figured it out already.

I just dont get it, what is the complementary component we're supposed to put on the tracks
