Is there crates at the shipwrecks?

I'm currently exploring a shipwreck, the HMS Midlothian, and I can't seem to find anything of value. Is there treasure at shipwrecks? If so, how can I make it easier to find without any sort of detector? Because I can barely see down here.

I only explore a few wrecks my self.. and never found any crates down there.
But ofcouse it could be i was unlucky since crates spawn randomly.
In my experience crates either float on water or lay on islands not below water.
But it could be in recent updates it was changed.

Every ship wreck has at least one treasure chest (also inside dragon caves) . But they are not connected to the sea floor. They move with waves at the bottom of the sea.
So you need a submarine or diving bell with lots of flood lights and have to search the wreck and the surrounding area. Because the chests drift at the sea floor with waves it's best to do the search in good weather conditions.
If you are a long time near the wreck while there are big waves this increases the chance for the chests to float away from the wreck.
And they are really heavy (probably to stop the drifting a bit). But makes it harder to bring them to the surface to open them if they are too deep for diving.
