Stormworks: Build and Rescue

Anyone else using PingPerfect?
I've been testing a server setup on PingPerfect for a couple of days now with a couple of friends and so far we have had zero fun. I know the MP game has issues but the constant de-sync, lag, and crashing to desktop issues are beyond terrible.
I can play a single player game flawlessly and even host a game on my own machine with much much better results but yeah the MP is still very unstable.
Anyone had better results with this host or should I just write it off as "It's going to be this bad on any host you use because the game is still too early access for a stable server version"
?

The little I have played MP, I have hosted a private session for myself and one other person. We both have good PCs and good internet. I suffer from pretty bad latency and desync when playing with him. Granted, it is a long distance connection (US to EU), so I am not sure whether you can attribute this behavior just to that, but figured I would contribute with what little experience I have.

I would add that, when viewing the player list, the number I take to be the ping is always excellent for him (or me if he hosts). The player list suggests we should not have any input lag, but the client (player not hosting) always does. Like I said, this might just be from the distance, but then I would argue that either than number in the player list is not the ping, or the ping is inaccurate.

I have no idea what PingPerfect is, but quick googling makes it look like a questionably named average hosting company that hosts everything under the sun and doesn't openly list what the specs of the hosting machine or the bandwidth offered are going to be and instead spends valuable site space to advertise stupidity like "DDoS Protection" as if it really mattered for a game server, when all they're really doing is likely buying off VPS space off amazonaws, installing whatever control panel they made and reselling it for a price that's never anywhere close to the listed minimum price. :lunar2019deadpanpig:

Ranting aside... i've recently been hosting locally as opposed to dedicated because my VPS is busy with a longer task that i'm under NDA to not disclose, and i've been playing with 2 friends this week. One is a USican and one lives near the opposite end of EU for me. While the game occasionally does crash for the client, apart from that we've really not experienced all that much issues. The US friend says that he does experience some lag with controls, but that overall the multiplayer feels better than it did, apart from crashing.

The EU friend reports seemingly no lag with controls, but still has the relatively uncommon, but still "once or twice a playsession" crash to desktop. Just to put it out there, our playsessions usually sit around 5-8 hours, so they're not short.

Generally speaking, if the crashes are fixed, i don't see much wrong with the multiplayer. As a host i've crashed all of once, and that was when i was effectively trying to murder the game at the end of the session.

For what it matters, i'm on a mobile wireless (this means connection quality isn't great) of 80/20 bandwidth (which is pretty stellar for 5€/month) and the hosting machine is an i5 7400k
